I usually go for the buffet and the food here is great! Wide variety of Filipino dishes on the menu as well. Employees and staff are very friendly and treat you like family and go out of their way to make you welcome and comfortable. Thank you, always look forward to coming back again!

I love Matt's. I love the peoole there and what they do is great! However, the last few times I have been there it has been just okay. I went for the lunch buffet today and it really wasn't good. Two of the food trays had signs on them that said "closed". It's possible they had run out of that item for the day but it wasn't even 2pm and their buffet goes until 3pm. They had the noodle and shrimp dish that they usually have but they did not have ribs like they normally do. They had this watery lentil dish that was not good and calamari that was so overdone it was hard to get through. They say that the menu rotates but whenever I go, it's the same tired dishes. One time long ago they had pork belly and it was awesome, and their ribs are always very good. I wish they would get a few really good items and keep them on the menu (ribs and pork belly?) and rotate the other stuff. Sometimes not knowing what they will have on the buffet is a deterrent from going at all.

The first time we tried to come here, we called. They said they don't take reservations. We got there an hour before they closed and they said they were running out of food and couldn't accommodate my family of ten. The second time we came early (an hour after they opened), first they asked if we had reservations (I thought they didn't take reservations? ). Then after being seated, they said if we wanted food on the menu, it would be an hour because they're only cooking for the buffet. We left and needless to say, we won't be going back there again.

This was my first time trying Filipino cuisine. All I can say, I wish I had a bigger stomach. The service was great as well. I lived in Carson California for two decade, a city where there's a Filipino restaurant in every corner or whichever direction you look at, and when I relocated here in Maryland the first thing I look for was a Filipino restaurant. There's one along 355 but I was not impressed. 2 weeks ago, my Caucasian co-worker told me about Matthew's grill, I asked myself, what does he know about Filipino food? When I got home I told my wife about this place and we agreed to try it.
